Almost everyone loves Christmas. It’s a time to gather and exchange gifts with family and friends. These gifts can be fun presents or they can be meaningful presents that may be used year after year. If you are tired of giving everyone a fruitcake or gift card, here are some Christmas gift ideas for your consideration:
Clothes
Who doesn’t love to get new clothes? New clothes make both men and women look and feel good. Make sure you know the style and size of the person you are gifting prior to shopping for them. You wouldn’t want to give a Stone Temple Pilots t-shirt to someone who’s into designer clothes. Most adults are always in need new work clothes so if you aren’t sure about their style, consider getting the person a new work shirt or, if you know they have many scarves and love red, try to find a red silk scarf perhaps. Get a gift receipt so they may return it if they like. If you are still struggling, opt for a gift card. This is always a nice gesture as it shows the other person that you are thinking of them.
Electronic Devices
We all love the new advancements that come with technology and who doesn’t love having an iPod or an MP3 player? If someone you know is still using CDs, it is time to introduce them to modern technology. You can get an iPod for about $50. The new iPod Nanos are a little more expensive, but if the person you’re buying for is a music lover, it’s the perfect gift and it will give them years of enjoyment.
Another fun electronic device you might give someone you love is a new digital camera. We all love to take pictures to capture memories so why not give a digital camera so someone might capture sorts of memories and share their artistry. You might also consider giving them a digital photo frame so they can display those memories in their home.
Homemade Gifts
If you like to add a personal touch to your gifts, make them at home. If you are crafty, you will be able to make books, shelves and other things that can be used as decorations in the home. If you have a talent, share it with others. A handmade painting or a frame photo that you have taken is sure to please the gift recipient and they will think of you each time they look at it. Homemade ornaments are a great, easy to make gift that you can make as plain or as glitzy as you like. Buy some clear ornaments then create unique themes within the ornaments by gluing in a picture of the nativity or even your family picture. Making ornaments is a great activity for kids, too. Just grab some acrylic paint and let the kids have fun and be creative. You can paint on the outside of the ornaments or you can create a unique ornament by pouring a little paint inside it and shaking it up. This is definitely a one-of-a-kind gift that you aren’t going to find in any retail stores.
Gift Packages
Instead of giving one big gift, give your loved ones several gifts. A gift package is always a welcome gift on Christmas day. Grab an oversized stocking from the store and pack it full of several smaller gifts like a new bottle of perfume or a nice designer necklace. Even framing a picture of your family is a wonderful way to share your love with someone. Perhaps include tickets to a show you both have been wanting to see or include tickets to go on an exotic vacation.
There are a number of things you can do to brighten the Christmas holiday. Think about the person you are shopping for and try to let your imagination run wild when you pick out a Christmas gift for them.
