Themes are a great idea when you are decorating your girl’s room. They provide a fun idea and make the room completely connected. There are tons of different types of themes that you can use when you are designing your girl’s room. Let’s look at some of them.
Creating a theme around a color is a great idea. If your daughter loves pink or purple or any other color, you can create a theme that is based only on that color. To make sure that you don’t overdo the color and make yourself shocked every time you enter the room, you might want to do a theme around a main color and then a couple others. It will help make the room look more stylish and fun. Paint the walls the color, get a new bedspread of that color, and decorations. You can even paint your own artwork using the colors and different shades of them.
Beach themes are always fun. Create a room around a beach. It doesn’t have to be a specific beach, but just the general idea. Paint the walls to look like the sky and sand, or make the carpet the sand. Get decorations that are beach themed and buy a new bedspread. Create drapes with sea shells in them and have colors that you would see at the beach or that remind you of being outside on the beach.
If your daughter loves a certain place for vacation, create a room around that. If she loves going camping, loves four wheelers, loves Hawaii, loves the mountains, loves Disneyland, or loves skiing, then create a room around it. She will feel so relaxed in her room and love the feeling of being where she loves, without actually being there.
If your daughter loves things like sports or a certain hobby, create a theme around it. Sports aren’t just for boys and a girl that is really athletic will love a room created around things that she loves. You can paint softballs on the walls or create a mural of a horse.
Create a room around a style. If your daughter loves urban clothes or sophisticated looks, then create a room around it. There are certain colors that are associated with each style. Use those colors and create a room. You can buy decorations that resemble the style. Just like you would decorate a living room around a style, create a girl’s room around the style too.
You don’t have to go overboard with themes. Just a few changes can really make a difference. A makeover doesn’t have to cost thousands of dollars. Make a budget for your project and create a room only using that amount. There are tons of things that you can make yourself, like headboards and artwork. You spend a little money and create something that would have cost so much more if you had bought it and not made it.
You can have so much fun with ideas like these. The next time that you are thinking about decorating a room, ask your daughter what she likes and what makes her feel relaxed. You want the room to be a relaxing place to be and a place where she can go and feel calm. Somewhere that she loves and helps to design will help her feel that way.
