Getting ready to host a baby shower? Besides worrying about the food along with the presents and invitations, you also need to decide if you want to do some baby shower games. Baby shower games are a great way to help your guests get to know one another and it’s a great way to pass the time. Make sure you have some fun prizes to hand out to the winners. Here are five fun and easy baby shower games to play:
The Dirty Diaper Game
If you have guests with a sense of humor, you can try playing the dirty diaper game. You need to get a bunch of different chocolate bars and melt them inside diapers. Make sure you label the diapers with numbers. Pass the diapers around. The guests that are able to successfully identify the melted chocolate in the diaper is the winner.
Name that Item
Test your guest’s knowledge by having all the letters of the alphabet written down on a piece of paper. Give your guests about three to five minutes to try and come up with baby items that correspond to each letter on the piece of paper. The person that is able to come up with the highest number is the winner and they get a prize. Instead of doing items, you can also play the baby name game. The guests need to come up with a baby name the corresponds to the sex of the unborn child for each letter. This is a fun game to play and it’s a great way to see if any of the guests can accurately guess what the unborn child’s name will be.
Sing it Baby
A fun game for a baby shower is to play karaoke. You can get a karaoke machine and fill it up with different baby lullaby’s and have each guest sing. Another fun thing to do is to have each guest successfully write down the first verse of a popular baby lullaby. The person that is able to finish their song the fastest is the winner. Of course, to make them earn their prize, you should have them sing the song to the other guests. You can also try having each guest come up with a different baby song. The songs cannot be repeated or the person is disqualified.
The Baby Food Game
The baby food game is a popular one. Take the labels off the baby food jars and label them with numbers instead. Have your guests try to guess what type of baby food is in the jar. You can also make it a little more entertaining by having each guest taste the food that is in the baby food jar. This may not always work with some people, but it’s a great way to get your guests talking. The person that is able to successfully identify the highest number is the winner.
Pin the Pacifier on the Baby
Draw a picture of a baby and have each guest try to pin a pacifier on the baby while they are blindfolded. You can divide everyone into groups of two so one person has to pin the pacifier and the other person has to guide them by saying, up down, left, or right. This is a fun game, but it can get rowdy! To make it a little easier on your guests, use Velcro instead of pins. This way your guests won’t stick themselves with the pins. Be sure to make the board big enough for your guests so they can actually get the pacifier on the baby. The person that pins their pacifier the closest to the baby’s mouth is the winner.
