Home made jewelry:
Women love jewelry, even necklaces and bracelets made of breakfast cereal. A fun Mother’s Day craft is making any form of jewelry, whether it is a bracelet, anklet, necklace, or earrings. If you are going to make jewelry as your Mother’s Day craft, first you need to decide what type of jewelry you want. Then, go to a craft store, and choose the right clasps, enclosures, hooks, etc. to make that possible. You will also want to get the string or wire you will be stringing with your jewelry medium. You also need to choose your jewelry medium. You can choose plastic, glass, or clay beads, metal, charms, etc. So, pick the medium, then choose colors, designs, etc. It is a good idea to lay out your design before you start stringing. Use crimpers etc. to keep it all together, and consider wrapping it with some bows and tissue paper if you are going to make it a gift for Mother’s Day.
Flower pin:
Women love flowers, and why not make some that last longer than a few days to give to your mom? This craft involves using wire edged ribbons, a gem centered push-pin, green pipe cleaner, and some hot glue. Basically, you take the wire ribbon, and shape it into a flower. You then take the gem centered push pins, and use it as the center of the flower. Use hot glue to secure it all. You then use the green pipe cleaners to make a stem and leaves, and use hot glue to attach those as well. These make great Mother’s Day gifts, or can be a fun craft to do as an activity on the big day.
Handprint flowers:
A fantastic craft that will make mom smile is that of handprint flowers. You need construction paper in different colors, and green pipe cleaners. You trace your hand on the construction paper, and then cut it out, and attach it to the green pipe cleaners. You can then insert it into a clay flowerpot filled with glass rocks. This is a fun centerpiece or décor item for your mom, and will remind her of you. You can even write, “I love you” on the palms of your hand flowers.
Door hangers:
A fun Mother’s Day craft is to make a door hanger for your mom that expresses your love to her. You can use wood and ribbon, or paper and ribbon. Basically cut the wood or paper into the right shape and size for your door hanger. Paint or color it, put your message on it, “I love you Mom” tends to work well, but you can put whatever you want. Attach the ribbon so that it can be hung, and decorate further using ribbon, glue, glitter, buttons, lace, etc.
