Your face can easily wrinkle, but there are several ways to avoid eye wrinkles. The following are seven tips to prevent eye wrinkles:
Tip one: Wear sunglasses: Sun rays, or UV rays can damage skin, cause premature aging, and lead to wrinkles. If you want to prevent wrinkles, do everything you can to protect your eyes from UV damage. One of the best things you can do is wear sunglasses summer and winter when you are outside. It helps to prevent squinting, as well as blocks UV rays from the more sensitive skin around the eyes.
Tip two: Use moisturizer: the more moist your skin, the less likely for fine lines to become wrinkles. The skin around your eyes is very susceptible to wrinkling because of the thinness and sensitivity. If you want to prevent wrinkles, keep it moist and supple so that fine lines do not occur. A basic facial moisturizer applied daily, and anytime your skin feels dry is a good start.
Tip three: Don’t squint or scrunch eyes: Repeated facial movements can cause your skin to wrinkle, or get fine lines. Eye scrunching and squinting leads to these lines forming because the skin around your eyes is used to the movements and thus the lines become a regular part of the skin. If you find you are squinting or scrunching during certain times, avoid those times.
Tip four: Sleep on your back: You might be putting strain on your eyes while you sleep, without even realizing it. For example, you may find that your pillow is pulling or rubbing, causing wrinkle patterns. So, sleep on your back to keep all pressure off your eye area. At the very least sleep on your side, and alternate which side you sleep on so that you are not continuously putting pressure on the same side.
Tip five: Use an anti-wrinkle eye cream: Moisturize your whole face, and then apply a specially formulated eye cream after. Why? Because that skin is more sensitive, it takes a creamier moisturizer to keep wrinkles from forming. These creams can be costly, but it does not take much, and will really aid your plight to avoid eye wrinkles.
Tip six: Don’t rub, scratch, or press around eyes: It can damage the area and lead to wrinkles. Repeated pressure on that area can weaken the skin, and lead to skin that is not as easily reparable. So, be careful and use your ring finger when applying lotions and sunscreen as it is the weakest finger you have, thus will apply the least amount of pressure.
Tip seven: Sleep with a humidifier: A humidifier will put moisture into the air, and this will help keep moisture in the skin. Moisture in the skin means more elasticity and more elasticity means less wrinkles. So, at least once a week sleep with a humidifier on. Your eyes will thank you.
