My heart is bursting with excitement at the idea of finally becoming a MOM for real! Just the mere thought of seeing my adorable baby and cuddling him for the very first time brings tears of joys to my eyes. At the same time, my mind is racing not only with images of taking care of my baby but also with ideas on how I can earn more even while rearing a child.
I am dreaming of becoming a work-at-home mom. Yes, that’s right. I am leaving my present job for this reason and more. But of course that is just the first step. With all the monthly expenses that my husband and I have, I need to come up with a great plan for me to still be able to contribute and to have extra budget for the baby as well.
Good thing I have discovered the power of the Internet! Because of the world wide web boom, internet marketing and other online income opportunities have suddenly become rampant. Imagine just sitting in front of a laptop in the comforts of your own home, and being able to earn a lot already. Not to mention the perks of removing transportation and food allowance from your daily expenditure list.
To become a work-at-home mom, I believe we need to focus on our strengths and talents. In my case, I have been able to develop a writing career online for almost a year now just doing it part-time. At the moment, I am seeking more venues for me to turn this into a full-time job. At the same time, I have also begun a small business with my friend designing and making fashion and hair accessories which we sell online. In this way, I can create more than one income stream with just my online work. But in order for me to really be successful, I will have to keep researching and learning (which is what I am trying to do now).
For all moms who are dreaming of earning from online work, think first of what you can do. There is a wide variety of opportunities out there— data entry, virtual assistance, blog advertisements, and many more! Do your research now. Good luck to all of us who are embarking on this journey, along with starting out a new chapter of our lives with our little angels!

How exciting for you! I have been a work at home mom for the last twelve years and it has been great. I quit my job as a librarian when my oldest son was 1 year old and started my own editorial freelancing business (proofreading, editing). It has been very successful – enough that my husband was able to become a stay at home dad too!
