Since we had to take our little baby girl to the emergency with a high fever, without any other symptoms, that lasted for three days, I made a decision to research every way possible to strengthen her immune system with natural solutions. It really does work. Here are some ideas for you and your family I would love to share and hope to help you to be stronger this flu season.
1. To start with we regularly use fermented cod liver oil. I take it myself to strengthen my immune system and make sure my milk has adequate nutrition for my baby. I used to rub FCLO on our girl’s bottom every night. Now I just squeeze the contents of a capsule into her mouth. She is a brave girl:)
2. Every day I mix some probiotic into the water or into the bone broth for little one. It is to strengthen her immune system and to keep her gut flora healthy and strong. Now, there are a few ways to get probiotics. Instead of buying powder from a chemist you can make fermented foods at home.
3. Bone broth. It has incredible amounts of benefits, the most important I think is calcium. I give it to our baby girl every day for a healthy gut and cook everything in it. I make it every week and add onions, ginger root, carrots, herbs, garlic.
4. Magnesium oil. Well, this one I give to my baby SOMETIMES for good night sleep. It has to be pure magnesium oil. I mix it with water or massage oil and apply on her chest. I do it also when she has a bit of a cough or cold symptoms – rub it on her throat, feet or back.
5. Liquid chlorophyll. It is a superfood. I drink it myself every day and mix a couple of drops for my girl. It is great for those who are low on iron and it is good for immune system. I buy it at the chemist and make sure it does not contain ethanol. I have to admit our little one loves it.
6. Coconut oil. Since our girl has just cut two first teeth (oh they grow so fast) I started to “brush” her little pearls with a wash cloth with a tiny bit of coconut oil on it.
7. Another amazing remedy that was so helpful during the flu season – lemon socks for fevers. I used this method when little one had a rasp in her voice, worked like magic.
8. Once in a while after a bath I apply evening primrose oil on baby’s skin. It also supports a strong immune system. We do not use soap for her bath, instead we add apple cider vinegar in her bath tub.
9. I drink a lot of white tea for general well-being and give it to our girl once in a while. It has a very gentle taste and even better qualities than green tea.
10. And of course the diet is a very important aspect if the strong health. Our baby girl does not have any dairy or grains until she is at least one year old. No sugar, processed food or packaged food for her.
11. When my bub run temperature or just generally does not look well I pin a piece of organic garlic to her clothes to help her to fight microbes.
12. Another fever solution is to squeeze juice out of frozen cranberries and mix it with water. This helps to fight UTI. Worked for my baby girl within an hour, temp is gone.
13. The chiro sessions are also a great way to support the immune system.
May God bless you and yours with great health and strength! Thanks for stopping by.
