Being a mom has its ups and downs, and while the rewards are worth every minute, sometimes being a mom can be a stressful job. This is inevitable, no matter how organized you are, the laundry will start to pile up, unexpected things will happen, and you will need to have some sort of way to beat the stress. The following are some great stress busters for even the busiest of moms:
Take time for you- the fact is that when you are a mom you tend to put your child before everything else. You feed them before you eat, you dress them before you shower, you buy them things before you buy things you need. Being a mom means making these sacrifices and not begrudging that. However, if you want to beat the stress when you are a busy mom you need to take some time each and every day for you. If you start to feel stress overwhelming you, then you need to take time right then for you. So, make a list of things you want to do for you, and then start doing them one day at a time. Maybe you want to read a good book, so read a chapter every day. Maybe you want to learn a new skill, so start an online class and take time to work on that each day. By doing something just for you, you give yourself a chance to relax and rejuvenate and eliminate stress.
Eat right- if you want to be able to bust stress you have to eat right. Sometimes being a busy mom means only eating a few bites here and there, skipping a lot of meals, and grabbing whatever is convenient in order to have some sort of sustenance for the day. The fact is that your body will get more stressed than normal if you do not fuel it with high quality fuel. Think of it like a car, if you put garbage in it, it will run like garbage. So, eat healthy, make sure you get breakfast in the morning, that you eat plenty of fresh foods, and that you cut back on the refined, processed, junk foods.
Exercise daily- a great way to beat the stress of being a busy mom is exercising every day, or at least a minimum of three times a week. Most fitness centers offer child care, and so even if you have little ones at home, you can get in a short work out without having to worry about it. So, even if your exercise is that you park far away so you have to walk further when you go grocery shopping, just make sure you are staying active. Physical activity can reduce the stress and help you feel really good, not to mention less stressed out.
Get some sleep- if you find yourself getting super stressed out, then maybe you are not resting your body often enough, or for long enough. Make a goal to be in bed by ten, no matter how much stuff you have to do. You are busy, but you will be more effective getting the things you need to get done, done, if you do them well rested. So, get your eight hours a night, and make sure they are uninterrupted. You may want to consider investing in a better mattress so that when you do have time to sleep, you get to sleep better. Sometimes four hours of good sleep can be better than eight hours of crappy sleep.
