1. Simplify.
It is easy as a parent to put too much on your plate. If you want to enjoy being a mom, then it is time to cut back some. Let each child be involved in one or two activities, and no more. While it sounds fun to have music, dance, sports, clubs, etc. if you are constantly driving from one thing to the next, you do not have a chance to just enjoy being mom.
2. Routines.
Because being a mom is a lot of responsibility, which usually includes not just the kids but the home and even work at times as well, it is important to get your family on a routine so your life is not too hectic. Have general plans that include nap times, meal times, bed times, and fun times planned in.
3. Vacations.
If you want to enjoy being a mom it is critical to take a vacation on occasion. This can be from your kids, or with them, but give yourself a break on occasion. Order out, get extra room cleaning, and let dad do the driving etc.
Enjoying motherhood benefits all.
4. Dad time.
Part of being a happy mom is having some time off, so if you want to enjoy being a mom then let Dad take some time with the kids where He is responsible. This can be once a week, once a day, or just once in a while. If Dad is not around, then get someone else to help you out once in a while.
5. Pitching in.
To enjoy being a mom more, you should try to lighten your load in other areas. Get everyone to pitch in with the chores, and the cooking. Kids can help, even if it is simple like putting their pajamas away after they get dressed.
6. Bed time.
Moms that enjoy being moms have children who get the right amount of sleep, and who go to bed around the same time each night. This gives you a chance to have some time to yourself, and helps ensure your kids get enough rest.
7. Say no.
As a mom it is okay to say no to others asking for help, or to your kids when they want something extra. If you do not have the time, or the energy, say no!
8. Take care of you.
To enjoy being a mom you have to have ‘you’ time. Everyday spend at least half an hour doing something for you that does not have to do with your children. Scrapbook, read a book, take a nap, take a bath, or go shopping (not for groceries).
9. Play, play, play
Moms who enjoy motherhood play with their kids. Dress up and have tea parties with your daughter, or go to the park and throw a football around. Do not just watch your kids play, but get in and play too.
10. Rules.
Do not let your kids get away with stuff. You will not enjoy being a mom if you have spoiled brats for kids, and that is in your control. Set some rules for your home and your children’s behavior, and stick to them.
